Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. butter or margarine (1/2 stick) softened
1 tsp. Anise extract
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 large eggs
Preparation

Into large bowl, measure 1 1/2 cups flour and remaining ingredients.
With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until just mixed, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula.
With spoon stir in remaining 1 cup of flour.
Wrap dough in plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.
(or place dough in freezer for 30 minutes)
