Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry coffee
    2 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 qt. 190 proof grain alcohol
    2 oz. pure vanilla
Preparation
    Boil coffee in 1 1/2 quarts water.
    Simmer 45 minutes; very slowly.
    Strain twice, should be about 1 1/2 cups of coffee extract.
    Boil sugar in 1 quart of water for 5 minutes, let cool. Add cool coffee extract to cool sugar syrup, then add in 1 quart of alcohol, stir.
    Add vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Should make about 3 quarts of Kahlua.
