Pam'S Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 Tbsp. butter
    6 Tbsp. flour
    1 qt. half and half
    1 lb. American cheese, grated
    2 c. chicken stock
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1/2 c. diced onion
    1/2 c. thinly sliced carrots
    salt to taste
    Tabasco to taste
Preparation
    Melt 6 tablespoons butter; add flour, then milk to make a white sauce.
    Add cheese and remove from heat.
    Melt 2 tablespoons butter in another pan.
    Add vegetables and cook until tender.
    Add chicken stock and mix well.
    Combine the 2 mixtures and spices. Heat, but do not boil.
