Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. medium cucumbers
    salt
    lime
    3 pt. vinegar
    6 lb. sugar
    4 tsp. cinnamon bark
    6 tsp. celery salt
Preparation
    Put cucumbers in salt and lime to carry an egg.
    Let stand 5 days.
    Drain and soak 2 days in clear water, then cut up in sticks.
    Cover with boiling water.
    Let stand until cool.
    Drain. Boil the remaining ingredients a short time and pour over pickles. Do not heat pickles.
    Re-boil this syrup for 3 mornings and pour back over the pickles.
    At third heating, pack pickles in jars and pour over hot syrup.
    Seal.
    A crisp pickle.
