Kolache - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. milk
    1 1/2 cakes yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    3 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs, well beaten
    2 tsp. salt
    flour
Preparation
    Scald milk; let cool until lukewarm.
    Dissolve yeast in warm water to which has been added the sugar.
    Let rise while milk cools.
    Add dissolved yeast to cool milk and sponge and let rise until light.
    Cream together 1 cup sugar and 1 cup butter.
    Add eggs and salt.
    Then add sponge and mix well.
    Add enough flour to handle well.
    Let dough rise until light and make into kolaches. Roll out dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with biscuit cutter. Make depression in center and fill.
    Let rise and bake in quick oven, 400\u00b0, for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
