Ingredients

2 c. peeled and cubed turnips or rutabagas
2 c. carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 c. peeled and cubed sweet potatoes or yams
2 c. peeled and cubed winter squash
2 c. celery, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 c. onions, slivered
3 Tbsp. cider vinegar
3 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. vegetable water
Preparation

Combine ingredients in a bowl.
Mix well.
Pour over vegetables and mix well to coat.
Bake in preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes. Baste occasionally (more vegetable water may be used, if necessary).
Stir well and sprinkle with toasted, slivered or sliced almonds.
Serves 8.
