Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

1 box raisins, cooked until tender and cooled thoroughly
1 c. juice drained from cooked raisins
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Have raisins completely cold before starting. Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Grease lightly 10-inch tube pan. Cream butter or margarine thoroughly; add eggs, one at a time. Beat until fluffy. Sift flour, salt, soda and spices. Add alternately with raisin juice, beating smooth each time. Stir in cold cooked raisins until well distributed; pour into pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes or until done.
