Blueberry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/3 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Add 1/4 cup sugar to keep them stiff.
    Cream shortening, salt and vanilla.
    Add remaining sugar. Add unbeaten egg yolks; beat until creamy.
    Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Fold in blueberries.
    (Gently shake a bit of the flour called for in the recipe over the blueberries so they won't settle.)
    Turn into a greased 8 x 8-inch pan.
    Sprinkle top with sugar.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
