Polish Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 doz. cukes
    4 c. water
    1 c. white vinegar
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 c. salt
    2 cloves
    sliced onion
    garlic clove
    1/2 tsp. pickling spices
    dill (fresh)
Preparation
    Boil together water, vinegar, sugar and salt; let cool.
    Pack a gallon glass jar (or smaller) with cukes.
    Add 2 cloves, slice of onion, clove of garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of pickling spice. Place dill on bottom and top of pickles.
    Pour cooled vinegar solution over cucumbers and close cover.
    Let stand at room temperature, then place in refrigerator.
    Ready to eat in 24 hours.
    Lasts a month.
