The Black-Eyed Peas' Baked Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. medium size yellow squash
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. bread crumbs
    4 oz. (1 stick) butter or margarine
    1/4 c. sugar
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. chopped onions
Preparation
    Cut off tips of squash and cut each into 3 or 4 pieces.
    Place in boiling water, making sure it is totally covered.
    Return water to a boil; reduce heat and cook until tender.
    Drain in colander; mash.
    Combine squash with beaten eggs, bread crumbs, butter, sugar, salt, pepper and onions.
    Turn all ingredients into a 3-quart casserole that has been lightly greased or sprayed.
    Cover with a layer of bread crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until lightly browned, approximately 30 minutes.
