Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
    2 large onions, chopped
    2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans red kidney beans
    2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans dark red kidney beans
    1 (28 oz.) can peeled Italian style tomatoes, cut up
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1/4 c. chili powder or to taste
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a large Dutch oven, cook the ground meat and chopped onions until meat is brown and onions are tender; drain off fat.
    Stir in the undrained beans and tomatoes.
    Add chili powder, garlic powder, oregano and pepper.
    Bring to boiling and reduce heat.
    Simmer, uncovered, about 1 1/4 hours, or until of desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
    Makes 12 (1-cup) servings.
