Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick melted butter
    8 Tbsp. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    4 c. flour
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. chopped dates
    xxx sugar
Preparation
    Slowly melt Crisco and butter.
    In mixing bowl, add sugar to melted Crisco and butter.
    Beat 1 minute.
    Add eggs and vanilla. Beat 1 minute.
    Add flour.
    Mix by hand, not mixer.
    Add dates and nuts.
