Sauerkraut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. cocoa
    2/3 c. rinsed, drained and chopped kraut
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1 c. cold water
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with water.
    Lastly, stir in kraut.
    Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan or use two 8-inch square pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes in the square pans, longer in the 9 x 13-inch pan. Check for doneness. When cool, ice with chocolate icing.
