Catfish Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 lb. green tomatoes, cut in fourths
    8 lb. onions, cut in fourths
    1 qt. or 1/2 lb. jalapenos, take out 1/2 seeds, cut in 1/2
    1 c. salt
    8 c. sugar
    1 qt. white vinegar
    1/4 c. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. alum
Preparation
    Simmer for 10 minutes.
    Turn to high and bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
    Put in jars while hot and seal.
    Water bath pints 20 minutes and quarts 30 minutes.
