Chow Chow Relish - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 qt. ripe tomatoes
2 c. green peppers (bell or hot)
2 c. red peppers (bell or hot)
3 c. onions
2 c. celery
4 c. cabbage
1/4 c. salt
3 c. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. pickling spices
1 qt. vinegar
Preparation

Chop vegetables fine.
Mix with salt and sugar.
Put spices in cheesecloth bag.
Simmer in vinegar for 30 minutes.
Cool and pour over vegetables.
Let stand overnight.
In the morning, remove bag of spices and heat to boiling point.
Pack in hot, sterilized jars and seal at once.
