Old Fashioned Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 to 2 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. margarine or butter
    4 eggs
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. plain flour
    1/2 to 2 tsp. lemon extract
    1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
    nutmeg (optional)
Preparation
    Cream sugar with margarine.
    Add eggs, one at a time, creaming after each addition until light in color.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk.
    Add alternately with flour to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
    Add extracts.
    Pour into greased 10-inch tube pan.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Bake in preheated oven at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for about 15 minutes, or until done.
