Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (30 oz) pkg frozen, shredded hashbrowns, thawed
    2 cups sour cream
    2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 can cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
    1/2 cup green onions, chopped
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1/2 tsp pepper
    salt to taste
    cooked bacon or cubes of ham (optional)
Preparation
    In large bowl, combine all ingredients, reserving 1/2 cup cheese. Pour into well greased 2 quart baking dish.
    Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Remove from oven and sprinkle reserved cheese over top.
    Continue to bake for about 15 minutes or until cheese is completely melted.
