Christmas Eve Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    ham bone
    1 lb. pkg. Great Northern beans
    1 large can or 2 small, diced tomatoes
    1 large, diced onion
    4 or 5 large potatoes, finely diced
    salt and pepper
    tomato juice
    3/4 c. bacon drippings
Preparation
    Cover ham bone and beans with water; cook according to package directions.
    When almost cooked, add potatoes, tomatoes, onion and salt and pepper.
    Cook until beans are done.
    Mash through soup with potato masher.
    Add tomato juice and correct seasonings.
    Add bacon drippings.
    Stir and serve.
    Serve with French bread and salad.
    Delicious!!
