Hearty Hamburger Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chopped onion
    1 mashed clove garlic
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    4 carrots, quartered
    2 cans tomatoes
    3 beef bouillon cubes
    1 qt. water
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/2 tsp. basil
    10 peppercorns
    1 Tbsp. salt
    4 chopped celery stalks
    6 sprigs parsley, chopped
Preparation
    Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a heavy skillet.
    Add onion and garlic and cook over low heat.
    Stir in ground beef with a fork.
    When meat is no longer red, add other ingredients.
    Cook and cover over a low heat for about 30 minutes, or until carrots are tender.
    Serve in deep bowl, topped with toasted French bread and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
