Edna'S Buttermilk Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 stick butter
    4 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Let buttermilk and soda sit in black iron skillet for 15 minutes.
    Add the sugar, butter and syrup and bring to a boil. Turn down heat and stir to keep from sticking.
    When it reaches soft ball stage, add nuts.
    Stir until well mixed and pour into buttered dish.
    Cut when cool.
