Chola - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
    2 medium sized onions
    1/2 Tbsp. fresh ground ginger
    1/2 Tbsp. garlic
    1 tsp. ground cumin
    1 tsp. ground coriander
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
    1 1/2 tsp. garam masala
    1/2 lb. tomatoes
    olive oil or vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional; omit for low-sodium version)
Preparation
    Chop onions finely and mix thoroughly with ground ginger and garlic.
    Similarly, chop the tomatoes finely.
    Open can of chickpeas; drain its contents of all its fluid and let stand while you prepare the seasoning.
