Checkerboard Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sq. bitter chocolate
1 pkg. Knox gelatine
3 egg yolks, beaten
3/4 c. sugar
angel food cake, cubed
whipped cream
Preparation

Melt chocolate squares in 3/4 cup boiling water.
Add Knox gelatine which was dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water.
Leave this mixture cool.
Beat egg yolks and add sugar.
Beat well, then beat egg whites stiff and fold into chocolate mixture and pour over cubed angel food cake.
Mix well.
Put into torte pan.
Chill and top with Cool Whip.
