Squash Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. hard yellow or white squash (summer squash), cut up
    1/2 gal. sugar (measure in same container as squash)
    1 lemon, thinly sliced
    1 pt. water
    1 small can crushed pineapple
