Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco or shortening
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 Tbsp. corn syrup
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 oz. chocolate
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. nut meats, cut coarse
Preparation
    Melt shortening and chocolate together over hot water.
    Cool. Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    Beat eggs until light. Add sugar, then chocolate mixture.
    Blend.
    Add corn syrup, then flour, vanilla and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Bake in an 8-inch greased pan in moderate oven.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.
