Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/3 c. boiling water
    1 c. quick oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 stick oleo
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. coconut
    1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats and let stand 20 minutes.
    Add oats to next 9 ingredients and beat together until well mixed. Bake in a greased and floured pan at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes. Remove from oven.
    Boil oleo, brown sugar, milk and vanilla for 3 minutes.
    Add coconut and pecans.
    Spread over hot cake.
    Return to broiler until lightly browned.
