Danish Goulash - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. round beef (1/4-inch thick)
3 tsp. salad oil
speck of pepper
3/4 c. thinly sliced onions
2 1/2 c. cold water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. brown sugar
3 small bay leaves
5 tsp. cold water
Preparation

Cut beef into 1/4-inch cubes; brown in hot oil with a speck of pepper.
Add onions, and stir until lightly browned.
Add salt, 2 1/2 cups cold water, sugar and bay leaves.
Cover; simmer 1 1/4 hours or until tender.
Remove bay leaves, then stir in flour and 5 teaspoons water, blended together.
Cook until smooth and thickened.
Serve over mashed potatoes.
Makes 4 servings.
