Lemon Tea Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 large eggs
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    grated rind of 1 lemon
    3/4 c. chopped nuts
    Lemon Glaze
Preparation
    Beat shortening at medium speed until fluffy; gradually add sugar, beating well.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each one.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in lemon rind and pecans.
    Pour batter into greased and floured loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 55 minutes.
    Cool completely.
    Pour Lemon Glaze over bread.
    Yields 1 loaf.
