Flemish Beef And Beer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. sliced onions
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    3/4 c. vegetable oil
    4 lb. round steak (1-inch cubes)
    1/4 plus flour
    salt and pepper
    4 plus sprigs of parsley
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg, grated
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. thyme (optional)
    2 cans beer
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation
    Saute onions and garlic in oil, then remove and saute meat which has been seasoned with salt and pepper and dusted with flour.
    Brown meat and remove excess oil.
    In a greased 2-quart casserole, place meat, then onions.
    Top with the rest of ingredients in their order and cover tightly, baking in 325\u00b0 oven for 2 hours.
    Delicious served with spatzle or noodles.
