Pound Cake - cooking recipe

2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. ground mace
Preparation

Prolonged creaming of butter and sugar is essential in making a good pound cake.
Batter should be creamed until soft and light; sugar, added gradually, beating at least 10 minutes in mixer or longer by hand.
Then eggs should be thoroughly beaten, one at a time.
