Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk, warmed
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. rice (long grain)
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Wash rice.
    Cook rice with a little water.
    Before water evaporates, add warm milk and stir.
    Cook for 1/2 hour.
    Add sugar and vanilla and cook another 15 minutes.
    Remove from stove.
    Add beaten egg, stirring constantly while adding egg so that egg does not cook.
    Pour into individual serving dishes or large bowl and refrigerate.
    Serve cold.
    (If a little thick, add some cold milk to serving and stir.)
