Old Time Peppermint Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    2/3 c. Hershey's cocoa
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/3 c. water
    1/2 c. crushed peppermint candy
Preparation
    Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large mixing bowl.
    Beat on high speed for 3 minutes.
    Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
    Add alternately with water to creamed mixture.
    Blend just until combined.
    Add candy.
    Pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake is done.
    Cool 10 minutes.
