Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers
    5 onions
    2 medium green peppers
    2 medium red peppers
    1/2 c. coarse salt
    cracked ice
    4 c. cider vinegar
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Slice
    cucumbers;
    add
    onions
    and peppers.
    Add salt. Cover with cracked ice and mix thoroughly.
    Let stand 3 hours. Drain and combine
    remaining
    ingredients.
    Pour over cucumber mixture and heat to boiling.
    Place in hot jars and process in a hot water bath 10 minutes.
    Makes about 8 pints.
