Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams
    1 c. finely chopped onions
    1 c. finely diced celery
    2 c. very finely diced potatoes
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. flour
    1 qt. dairy half and half
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    few grains white pepper
    2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
Preparation
    Drain juice from clams and add to vegetables.
    Add enough water to barely cover vegetables.
    Simmer, covered, over medium heat until tender.
