Scotch Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    5/8 c. sugar (1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp.)
Preparation
    Mix butter and sugar, stir in flour.
    Mix thoroughly with hands.
    Chill dough.
    Roll out 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick.
    Cut into fancy shapes.
    Flute edges by pinching between fingers.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 about 20 minutes.
    Do not let brown.
    Yields about 2 dozen cookies.
