Country Corn Bread(Makes Two 8 X 8 X 2-Inch Breads) - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 c. milk
4 Tbsp. bacon dripping or shortening
Preparation

Combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in large bowl.
Add eggs and milk.
Stir to make a smooth batter; stir in bacon drippings.
Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pans.
Bake in hot oven at 450\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until crusty and golden brown.
Cool slightly and serve warm.
