Divinity(Candy) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. Karo syrup (light)
1 egg white
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
maraschino cherries (optional)
Preparation

Beat egg whites until it forms fluffy peaks.
Set aside. Bring sugar, Karo and water to a boil.
Heat until it reaches hard ball stage.
(When drops solidify when added to cold water.) Slowly add hot mixture to egg white while beating at high speed. Continue mixing until mixture is more solidified and gets a dull appearance.
Add vanilla.
Scoop onto wax paper in golf ball size pieces.
Allow to cool.
Maraschino cherries and juice can be added when mixing if desired.
