Ingredients

3 large onions
1/4 c. margarine or butter
2 cloves garlic
2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 (1/2 inch) thick slices French bread, toasted
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation

In large saucepan, mix onions, butter and garlic.
Cover and cook over low heat, until onions are tender.
Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and pepper, bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes; ladle soup into 4 ovenproof soup bowls.
Top each serving with toasted bread, shredded Swiss and Parmesan cheese.
Broil 3 inches from heat until cheese melts, 45 to 60 seconds.
