Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. light molasses
    1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and molasses; beat thoroughly.
    Sift the dry ingredients; add to cream mixture, alternating with water and beating after each addition.
    Bake in greased and floured 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
