Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 sticks margarine
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 tsp. soda
    16 to 18 c. popped popcorn
    1 lb. salted peanuts
Preparation
    Melt margarine and add sugar, salt and Karo.
    Bring to a boil; boil for 5 minutes.
    Stir constantly.
    Add soda and mix well.
    Put popcorn and nuts in a large roasting pan.
    Pour syrup mixture over popcorn and stir to cover all popcorn and nuts.
    Place mixture in preheated 250\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
    Stir every 15 minutes.
    Pour mixture onto wax paper to cool.
    Break into bite-size pieces. Store in an airtight container.
