Country Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. flour (self-rising)
1 c. corn meal (self-rising)
4 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Add beaten egg and buttermilk to make batter stiff.
Add slightly cooled shortening and beat until well mixed.
Bake at 425\u00b0 in greased pan for 15 minutes. Then brush top with margarine and bake 10 more minutes.
