Janytra'S Favorite Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. all-purpose flour (white, whole wheat or half and half)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
Cut shortening into flour, baking powder and salt.
Stir with fork or mix with pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Stir in milk until dough leaves side of bowl (dough will be sticky).
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
Knead lightly 10 times.
Roll or pat 1/2-inch thick. Cut with floured 2 1/2-inch cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake until golden brown (10 to 12 minutes). Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
Yields 1 dozen biscuits.
