Peanut Or Cashew Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1 3/4 c. raw nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. Karo syrup
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook in 3-quart saucepan sugar, Karo, water, butter and nuts until it reaches 325\u00b0, stirring so that it will not scorch. Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons of soda and vanilla. Pour into a 10 x 15-inch tray while it is still foaming.
