Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. unbroken pecan halves
Preparation
    Combine sugars, corn syrup, salt and milk in saucepan.
    Bring to boil and cook, without stirring, until a little of mixture dropped into cold water forms a soft ball (236\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Remove from heat and let stand until lukewarm (110\u00b0).
    Add vanilla and pecans and beat with spoon until mixture begins to thicken and loses its gloss.
    Drop from tablespoonful onto wax paper and spread to form patties about 4-inches in diameter.
    Let stand at room temperature until firm.
    Then wrap individually in Saran Wrap.
    Store in airtight container.
    Makes 12 pralines.
