Old Fashion Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
scant tsp. soda in 1/4 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening together.
Add eggs, beating 1 at a time.
Add other ingredients in order.
Roll on a lightly floured board.
Cut with cookie cutter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until lightly browned.
Overcooking will make cookies hard.
