Spareribs And Sauerkraut - cooking recipe
Ingredients

spareribs (enough for 4 servings)
1 tart apple, peeled and chopped
2 bay leaves
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 (14 oz.) cans sauerkraut
1 medium onion
2 tsp. caraway seed
2 c. water
Preparation

Cut spareribs into pieces of about 3 ribs each.
Brown slowly so that ribs cook a little while browning.
Mix all ingredients and place in covered baking dish large enough to hold spareribs. Place ribs, upside down, on sauerkraut so they will cook well. Cover and bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
Remove cover and turn chops upright.
Return to oven for 1/2 hour.
Chops should be tender and brown.
Meaty ribs may require longer baking. Makes 4 servings.
