Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 jar peanuts
    6 qt. popped corn
    2 sticks butter
    2 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. soda
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. light Karo syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar, syrup and water in heavy, large skillet, stirring constantly until hard crack stage.
    (Drop a few drops in cold water.
    You will hear it crack.)
    Add 1 bag (approximately 2 cups) raw peanuts to syrup mixture.
    Cook until peanuts start turning brown.
    Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla.
    Pour into two cookie sheets and spread.
    When completely cooled, break into pieces.
