Oatmeal Carmelitas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 oz. caramels
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    2 c. flour
    2 c. quick oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. melted butter
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. ground nuts
Preparation
    Melt caramels and milk; cool.
    Combine remaining ingredients, except chips and nuts.
    Press 1/2 mixture in bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Sprinkle chips and nuts and then spread melted caramels over chips and nuts.
    Add rest of mixture. Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer.
    Chill 1 to 2 hours before cutting. Very rich so cut pieces small.
