Raw Apple Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
4 c. apples, chopped and peeled
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar, beat well; add eggs and beat. Sift dry ingredients and add to cream mixture.
Add apples and nuts.
Batter will be real stiff.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
When cool, spread with topping.
