Princess Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. chopped dates
    3/4 c. water
    1/2 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. quick rolled oats
    1 c. coconut
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients and 1/4 cup sugar.
    Heat mixture on stove and bring to a boil.
    Simmer until thick.
    Cool and then place in blender and blend until smooth.
    In separate bowl, mix remaining sugar (1/2 cup), oats, coconut, flour and baking soda. Cut in butter, using a pastry blender or 2 dinner knives.
    Press 2/3 of this mixture on bottom of a 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Spread the date mixture on top and then crumble remaining coconut mixture on top.
    Bake 30 minutes in preheated 375\u00b0 oven.
