Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 pt. buttermilk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. Bran Flakes (40% bran)
    2 c. All-Bran
    1 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Add baking soda in boiling water and let sit until cool. Cream in food processor butter and sugar.
    Add 2 eggs and blend. Add buttermilk and flour (alternate buttermilk and flour, a little at a time).
    Add the cooled water with baking soda.
    Pour mixture into large mixing bowl.
    Add Bran Flakes and mix.
    Add All-Bran and mix.
    Mix in raisins if desired.
    Cover bowl and let sit in refrigerator overnight.
    Fill muffin tins 3/4 full and bake at 375\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
    This makes a large batch.
    It can sit in refrigerator for 1 week and you can make muffins as needed.
